...for Your Fully Loaded Cheeseburger!
A thick juicy burger, ooey gooey cheese, bacon, maybe a pickle or two… although as delicious as they sound many people living a low-carb lifestyle haven’t had one in years. At least not one in an honest to goodness bun! But you can! You just need to know where to buy or how to make the best hamburger rolls for the job!
The easiest way to get traditional burger rolls, the low-carb version, is frankly to order them. Both ThinSlim and LC Foods make some that are pretty darned close to their high-carb counterpart. I buy either one depending on which online store I am placing an order with at the time.
Although at about a buck a bun they are pricey and sometimes you want buns right away and don’t have time to wait for an order to be delivered. If you haven’t (like I try to do, they thaw quickly) put some in your freezer you turn to making some!
While you can use oopsie rolls those are pretty eggie and unless you are someone that likes traditional egg sandwich rolls they aren’t what most people think of as the best for burgers. What are undoubtedly a better bun for a big juicy cheeseburger are known as almond rolls and Caveman Keto makes one of the very best!
For more info check out this post http://cavemanketo.com/faux-bread-quest-holy-grail-almond-buns/ Almond buns, the best thing to ever happen to keto, period….
These almond rolls (so called for the almond flour they are made from) are found on many low-carb sites and in the video above. You can grab Caveman Keto’s print recipe if you’d like to print it out. The trick to getting nice evenly baked buns is to put your batter in what are referred to as muffin top pans. Be sure to use a non-stick one for best results.
Whether you order your buns ready made or make some almond buns for your burger, pulled pork or any other sandwich you’re going to love them!
Do you have to have a bun? Of course not, you can wrap lettuce around your burger but something about having a bun, even once in a while helps living a low-carb lifestyle seem more “normal” and easier to continue on a low-carb path so I always try to keep a package of burger rolls in my freezer. Whatever path you take enjoy it! Treat yourself to a burger on a real honest to goodness bun!
Before you wrap both your hands around that burger order some buns or muffin top pans and be ready for your next mouthwatering burger! As always if you found this helpful please take a minute to give this a thumbs up and share it with your friends!
In the meantime, ciao for now!
